21st Primary STEM Project Exhibition

You or your representatives are cordially invited to cover the 21st Primary STEM Project Exhibition (PSPE) to be held on 18 May (Friday) co-organised by the Centre for Education in Environmental Sustainability (CEES) and the Department of Science and Environmental Studies (SES) ) at The Education University of Hong Kong (EdUHK) along with other parties.

In line with the latest education trend in Hong Kong and around the world, the Hong Kong SAR Government has stepped up its efforts to promote STEM education among local students. The Exhibition is the largest annual exhibition in Hong Kong featuring primary school STEM projects, in which students had to integrate and apply science knowledge and STEM skills to accomplish the goals of their scientific investigations.

Smart City development was one of the highlights of the most recent Policy Address of the Hong Kong SAR Government. With the main theme “Development in STEM Generation – Living in a Smart City”, this year the Exhibition will display approximately 200 projects from local schools and schools from Zhongshan, Guangdong, Shenzhen and Macau. Innovative projects to be showcased include the following:

  • A scientific investigation into portable hydroelectric generators and ways to maximise their efficiency using different eco-friendly materials;
  • The theory and practice of floating farms on reservoirs; and
  • An investigation into the security and feasibility of underground building development in Hong Kong.
