HK$10m Capacity Building Project Awarded by Construction Industry Council

The Department of Curriculum and Instruction (C&I) at The Education University of Hong Kong has been awarded a HK$10 million contract by the Construction Industry Council (CIC) for a term of three years to teach 15 courses for the teaching staff at the Hong Kong Institute of Construction (HKIC).

Eight of the 15 courses will cover the Certificate in Learning and Teaching programme, and seven will be part of an advanced Continuous Learning programme. HKIC leaders will take the Leadership and Management programme. The contract comes on the back of C&I's success in teaching six HKIC cohorts in the Certificate in Learning and Teaching programme for Effective Vocational and Professional Education.

In June 2019, Professor David Coniam, Head of C&I, welcomed the participants of the new cohort and the CIC representatives Ms Angela Tsui and Ms Kim Sin.

The partnership echoes the University’s emphasis on knowledge transfer and its active contribution to the community and educational development for the professions, and acknowledges C&I’s pedagogical expertise.
