EdUHK President Professor John Lee Chi-Kin Attends the Launch Event for a New Publication

The Education University of Hong Kong (EdUHK) President Professor John Lee Chi-Kin, recently attended the launch event for the new book "Hong Kong: Towards an International Hub of Tertiary Education—Interviews with University Presidents" (《香港:走向國際專上教育樞紐──大學校長訪談錄》). The event was hosted by Mr Man Cheuk-fei, President of Master Insight, and featured Professor Simon Ho Shun-man, President of The Hang Seng University of Hong Kong, to jointly discuss the future development of higher education in Hong Kong.

 

Professor Lee stated that Hong Kong’s higher education institutions are attractive to students from across Asia and have the potential to become a regional educational hub. He further emphasised that strengthening cultural experiences and increasing exchange opportunities for international students, along with providing high-quality faculty, comprehensive administrative support, sufficient dormitory space, and a positive social atmosphere, will help solidify Hong Kong’s status as an international hub for tertiary education.

 

Renowned for its education-related disciplines, EdUHK with teaching teams excelling in both academic research and teaching quality, and has been recognised by The Quality Assurance Council. Regarding graduates working in education, Professor Lee explained that the sector places strong emphasis on professionalism, therefore, during admissions, candidates’ aspirations are assessed through interviews, and a principal recommendation scheme is in place to select applicants with a genuine passion for education.
