EdUHK Postgraduate Students in Winning Teams at Social Enterprise Competition

Two postgraduate students of The Education University of Hong Kong in two different teams have been named the winner and the first runner-up in the Hong Kong Social Enterprise Challenge (HKSEC) 2021-22.

The winner was a social enterprise, Kinnectus: Connect Us, led by EdD student Victor Wong Chun-man. It is a matching platform that merges behavioural therapy with technology to deliver a quality and affordable service for the special educational needs (SEN) community. Through the platform, parents with SEN children can search and book assessments, as well as find suitable Chartered Special Needs Tutors and community centres for therapy sessions, in real time.

Lam Ho-yi of the Postgraduate Diploma in Education (Professional and Vocational Education) programme was in the Neurodyssey team. The team was named the first runner-up for its participation in the development of the ‘Walk Along with the Kids’ programme. It is a one-stop service platform for SEN students, offering neuropsychological assessments and tailor-made intervention programmes supported by registered therapists of different disciplines.

HKSEC is organised by the Centre for Entrepreneurship of The Chinese University of Hong Kong, with an aim to encourage students to employ a creative entrepreneurial approach to solve real-world social issues. Details of the results are available on the HKSEC website
