Cross-Generational Prose Writing Dialogue at EdUHK

The ‘Mysterious Autumn Leaves Crossing the Floating Interval: Cross-Generational Prose Writing Dialogue’ series, co-organised by the Department of Literature and Cultural Studies (LCS) and Lightning Flash Studio, held its New Territories session on 28 February 2026 at The Education University of Hong Kong (EdUHK). In addition to EdUHK students, participants also included students and teachers from multiple secondary schools, who gathered in the university classrooms to immerse themselves in a literary atmosphere.

The event, moderated by LCS lecturer Ms Chak Yin-kwan, invited Hong Kong writers from different generations as guest speakers, including Mr Tsang Wing-chung and Mr Tsui Cheuk-yin. They engaged in in-depth conversations on topics such as ‘Reality, Fiction, and Dishonest Writing’, ‘Educational Material Selection’, and ‘Connections with Popular Culture’. Through works such as  The Strange Smell of Ya Ying Chau Street and Floating Interval Ferry , the writers explored the essence of prose creation together with the students.

The interaction at the event was lively and enthusiastic. The writers provided detailed answers to students’ questions about daily reading habits and sources of writing inspiration, successfully building a bridge for the younger generation to engage in dialogue with contemporary literature.
