CCA’s Artist and Student Exhibitions in 2026

The Department of Cultural and Creative Arts (CCA) organised three exhibitions related to 3D art, crafts, and printmaking in the first quarter of 2026: two student shows and one guest artist exhibition.

Supported by the FHM Special Project, the student-led ceramic exhibition ‘Thousand Years Relics’ was held in January 2026, showcasing more than 50 students’ ceramic artworks. In collaboration with the courses ART3182 and GEN1020, it featured works based on personal values. Through the imagery of the ‘clay totem’, the exhibition explored the connection between the artist’s sense of self and cultural identity.

Another student exhibition, ‘Art For Public Good’, was organised in March 2026 by Dr Zhang Lexuan and Ms Joyce Lung. It showcased students’ fibre art expressing compassion for the community. Students from the ART1155 Craft class each selected a community to support, using images and text through unconventional batik dyeing, embroidery, and laser-cut tie-dye to convey their care.

In early March, guest artist Ms Qilin Yang exhibited a collection of mezzotint prints in ‘Qinlin Yang: Observing London – Mezzotint Impressions’. The display ranged from early explorations to new works created in 2026, featuring the artist’s creative process and sketchbooks to reveal the steady development of her practice. The works reflect migrants' psychological states, conveying the unease and pressure of uncertain identity while evoking the weight of diasporic experiences. Additionally, the show featured intaglio prints by students from CCA, creating a visual dialogue between the urban spaces of London and Hong Kong in response to the theme.
