The students of EdUHK were invited to an event of fun, games, candy and even chances to win prizes on Friday evening. The CLE English tutors in the ASLLC organised and hosted this year’s Halloween Spooktacular.
On Halloween evening, outside the ASLLC doors, stood a long line of ghoulishly disguised students waiting for the doors to open. As they flowed in, the CLE tutors saw all sorts of creatures and characters, from anime stars to Gandalf. The Halloween spirit and students’ creativity were on full display, with over 100 students joining in on the festivities.
The Halloween Spooktacular was a spooky experience with ghosts hanging in the entrance. On entry, students found CLE filled with numerous decorations and music to help them all get into the Halloween mood. Off to one side was the photo booth with ghosts and spiderwebs. This was a place to make memories with friends or just grab a snap with someone in a cool costume.
With Halloween candy everywhere in the ASLLC, it was wonderful seeing everyone joining in and making new friends. In one of the rooms, some student helpers showed their fellow students how to make origami jack-o’-lanterns. Each one walking out with extra candy and an origami memento. Or for those wishing to show off their skills, they could go and sing loud their favourite songs in the karaoke room.
Later, there was a ghostly guessing game. The students were blindfolded and asked to guess what was placed in their hands. The staff hoped to give them a jump scare with some slime, but they all kept their cool and won the prize of a slab of chocolate. The sugar rush was real that night.
The Halloween Spooktacular at CLE was a fun and lively event. Students came to enjoy the dress-up, the games, the candy, and the activities that brought everyone together. It was a memorable night full of festive spirit and friendship.
