Mr Chiu Sze-long Thomas, Graduate of Master of Arts in Music Education in 2021/22
I have been fortunate to build an active career facilitating rhythm-based music workshops across Hong Kong, Chinse Mainland, and in the APAC region. In addition to the music education centre I founded in 2022, I have continued to expand my rhythm-based interventions into corporate team-building in Hong Kong. My team collaborated with Hong Kong Science and Technology Parks Corporation on their ‘Rhythm of Innovation’ event, where I had the opportunity to drum with the Financial Secretary of Hong Kong, demonstrating how music can enhance leadership and collaboration in professional environments. The MA(ME) programme, and in particular my independent research on rhythm-based workshops, has enabled me to advance my career in this field. I am also grateful to have been awarded the Outstanding Alumni Award from the University in 2024.
