The Faculty of Education and Human Development (FEHD) is proud to announce that Prof Kevin Chan, Acting Dean of FEHD and Professor in the Department of Psychology, has been awarded the Humanities and Social Sciences Prestigious Fellowship Scheme (HSSPFS) under the University Grants Committee, in recognition of his distinguished research achievements.

Prof Chan’s awarded project, titled “Identifying and Predicting 6-Year Trajectories of Autistic Children’s Symptoms and Their Parents’ Distress: A Growth Mixture Modelling and Machine Learning Study,” investigates how autistic children’s symptoms and their parents’ distress evolve over a 6-year period. The study aims to enhance both scientific understanding and practical interventions that promote the well-being of autistic children and their families.

HSSPFS is a highly competitive scheme, with a maximum of 10 fellowships awarded each year. Prof Chan’s achievement showcases FEHD’s commitment to advancing research excellence and fulfilling its social responsibility.
