Dr CHAN Ka Shing Kevin, Associate Professor of the Department of Psychology of The Education University of Hong Kong, gave a sharing seminar entitled “Experiential Learning of Mental Health and Mental Illness” on 25 Mar 2019.
In the seminar, Dr Kevin Chan, the awardee of the Faculty Teaching Award in 2018, shared his experience in teaching mental health and mental illness by using Kolb’s (1984) theory of experiential learning. He talked about how he utilized technology-enhanced learning approaches to foster student-centered learning and student-initiated learning, and how he created experiential learning opportunities inside and outside the classroom in order to enrich students’ experiences.
The seminar has provided an opportunity for participants to share experience in teaching and exchange ideas about how to help students construct their knowledge more efficiently in learning.
