Dr. Haifeng, Aaron SHANG is an Assistant Professor in the Department of Literature and Culture at the Education University of Hong Kong and a Visiting Research Scholar in the Internationa Research Institute for Zen Buddhism Studies at Hanazono University in Kyoto, Japan. He focuses on the study of Sinographic texts in East Asia, while his research interest falls within the interdisciplinary intellectual history and cultural flows across literature, arts and religions. He was born in Beijing and awarded a PhD in the major of Classical Chinese Literature from the Institute for the Study of Asian Classics in Chinese at Nanjing University. He was a Postdoctoral Fellow in the Institute of Chinese Literature and Philosophy at Academia Sinica in Taipei, a Foreign Research Scholar at the National Institute of Japanese Literature in Tokyo. He worked as a part-time Teaching Fellow at the School of Chinese as a Second Language of Peking University. He was invited to serve as a Visiting Fellow in the Council on East Asian Studies at Yale University and a Visiting Scholar in the Division on East Asian Thought and Culture at the University of Tokyo. Prior to joining the EdUHK, he was a Senior Research Scholar in the Department of Chinese at Sun Yat-sen University in Canton.
