| Aims & Outcomes | The Minor of English Language gives students opportunities to explore the English language and also to acquaint themselves with some of its associated cultures through the various linguistics and literature courses offered. Those who graduate with English Language as a Minor will be able to demonstrate a basic knowledge about how the English language can be analysed and about how it is used to communicate in social, cultural and/or professional contexts. |

| Pre-requisite Requirements and Other Conditions for Claiming a Minor | Although no pre-requisite requirements are imposed, students should be aware that a threshold level of English language proficiency (e.g., IELTS 6.0 or above, or HKDSE English Language Level 3 or above) is expected for successful completion of the courses offered in this Minor. |

Students who wish to obtain a Minor in English Language have to complete 15 cps (5 courses) offered from the following list.
For students from the 2025 cohort and thereafter:
Students in the 2025 cohort and thereafter should complete the following courses to fulfill the requirements for the Minor in English Language.
Note: The courses which are Major (Core) Domain for the FHM programmes are not applicable for students from FHM Programmes to declare the minor due to the double-counting policy stipulated by FHM.
