Chinese Language (For students from the 2025 cohort and thereafter)

Students who take Chinese Language as Minor will be able to:

• explore Chinese language and its cultures through various linguistics, literature and culture courses offered; and
• demonstrate a basic knowledge about how the Chinese language can be analysed and about how it is used to communicate in social, cultural and/or professional contexts.

15 cps (3 cps/course)

• All Minors will not lead to qualification as a registered teacher.
• Neither teaching practice nor immersion will be arranged.
• This Minor is opened to all current undergraduate students, including BA(DCCC)&BEd(CL) from the 2025 cohort and thereafter.

• The Minor is housed within and managed by BEd(CL) under the current management structure.
• You are required to declare the Minor(s) in the final semester of your studies by submitting the declaration form on-line via The Portal (under ‘Minor(s)’ on the left panel of The Portal homepage) to the Registry for approval.
• Any aspect of the course and course offerings (including, without limitation, the content of the Course and the manner in which the Course is taught) may be subject to change at any time at the sole discretion of the University. Without limiting the right of the University to amend the course and its course offerings, it is envisaged that changes may be required due to factors such as staffing, enrolment levels, logistical arrangements and curriculum changes.
