EdUHK BEd(CL) Student Chee King Fan Wins First in the Novel Category at The 9th Intervarsity Creative Writing Competition

Chee King-fan, Year 2 student in the Bachelor of Education (Honours) (Chinese Language) programme at The Education University of Hong Kong recently won the first prize in the Novel Category at the 9th Intervarsity Creative Writing Competition with his winning work ‘雨巷’. He made use of his living environment, relationship with his neighborhood and features of some historical characters to create this story. While Li Zhe-yi (Year 5) was awarded an honourable mention in the same category.

 

Moreover, Lo Chun-yu (Year 3), Suen Yick-fung (Year 3) and Heung Wing-sum (Year 2) were awarded honourable mentions in the prose category. Sy Wai-nok (Alumni) received an honourable mention in the poetry category. 

 

The Intervarsity Creative Writing Competition, co-organised by the Faculty of Arts and the Language Centre of The Hong Kong Baptist University, has been held biennially since 2000. Click here to learn more about the 9th Intervarsity Creative Writing Competition.
