    The research aimed to provide a School-Based Support Model of Social-Emotional Development for Kindergarten Children. It develops and implements a tiered intervention model of the response to intervention for promotion children’s social-emotional competence, preventing and addressing challenging social-emotional difficulties.

    This project also targets to encompass support for teachers and parents of young children with social-emotional needs who attend kindergartens at K2 and K3.

    The project creates Automatic Assessment Score Analysis (AASA) software to analyze properly scores of test questions, essays, etc. AASA requires zero statistics/computer knowledge and uses teachers’ existing data on their students’ scores.

    AASA applies cutting-edge statistics to assess students accurately and produce an easy-to-understand report that

    • sorts students (lowest to highest learning outcomes);
    • sorts questions from easiest to hardest (poorly- to well-understood ideas);
    • suggests removal of poor questions (easily guessed, misleading, etc.).

    This research focuses on middle leaders’ interaction with senior leaders, other middle leaders, and informal leaders, and the tools and routines that they employ when engaging in these interactions. Framing the study around the Director of Learning in International Baccalaureate (IB) continuum schools, will result in the identification of leadership practices, the materials, resources and routines that middle leaders use and develop to support their practice, and the impact of contextual factor, such as participation in the IB continuum, that facilitate or impede effective leadership distributions.

    This project aimed to provide a new framework and empirical evidence for explaining human stress resilience using the drive to thrive theory and the framework of regulatory flexibility.

    In the research, study 1 targeted to critically review the current literature on the strategies of sustaining everyday life fabrics across different traumatic and chronic stressful conditions and evaluate the utility of the three sequential components of regulatory flexibility in explaining everyday adaptation. Study 2 aimed to develop a multi-method approach to examine and validate emotional flexibility as a potential outcome measure of stress resilience in everyday life.

    This is an innovative project led by TWGH Kwan Fong Kai Chi School, in partnership with Hong Kong Special Schools Council, PEAK of Vocational Training Council and over 30 special schools in Hong Kong. In the research, Prof. SIN and his team conducted the evaluation work on the “Teaching and Learning for Children with special education needs (SEN) by using Intelligent Robot” for school-based consultancy, research activities, knowledge dissemination and staff training.

    With the concerted effort, the deliverables included over 60 teaching kits for the teaching and learning of SEN students with the Robot. During the research period, over 8,000 SEN students in 70 special schools or centers were benefitted for the provision of robot and related activities.
