The Department of Education Policy and Leadership (EPL) was delighted to host Dr Ting Zhang from the American Institute for Research on July 3. Dr Ting Zhang is a senior data scientist and project director at the American Institutes for Research, where she leads transformative projects at the intersection of statistical software development, AI innovation, and education data science.
During the visit, Dr Zhang gave a talk to students and staff on ‘International Large-scale Education Data Analyses Using EdSurvey’. She explained plausible values and the steps in dealing with large-scale assessment data. Additionally, she provided a handy overview of the EdSurvey, the R package developed by her team. The participants found the seminar beneficial for understanding the design and analysis of large-scale assessments.
