Dr Leung Yan Wing, Adjunct Associate Professor of the Department of Education Policy and Leadership, contributed an article to Ming Pao. Dr Leung said the Code for the Education Profession of Hong Kong stated that all teachers, regardless of disciplines, should put human rights education as their top priority, and they should also help cultivate students' awareness of freedom, peace, equality, rationality and democracy, which are in line with HK’s core values. In other words, teachers are professionally obliged to defend the city’s core values. Dr Leung listed out four key areas where educators should reinforce their efforts.
