Dr Soobin Choi in the Department of Education Policy and Leadership at The Education University of Hong Kong, has been selected as a 2026 WERA Visiting Researcher Award awardee. The prestigious award is jointly hosted by the International Association for the Evaluation of Educational Achievement (IEA) and the University of Hamburg, and is offered by the World Education Research Association (WERA). The award supports outstanding education researchers to undertake innovative and rigorous data‑intensive research through a research visit in Hamburg.
During the visit, Dr Choi will work closely with leading international scholars and research experts in large‑scale assessments such as TIMSS, PIRLS, and TALIS, which are central to his research on educational leadership and teacher professionalism. This achievement reflects EdUHK’s continued commitment to internationally impactful educational research.
