Entrepreneurial Leadership Workshop for Newly-Appointed Principals: Enhancing Strategic School Management

2026-04-13

The Education University of Hong Kong (EdUHK) is pleased to continue co‑organising the “Professional Development Programme for Newly‑appointed Principals” with the Education Bureau. A core component of the programme, the structured course on leadership and management strategies, was held successfully on 26 February at Liu Po Shan Memorial College. The session was delivered by Dr Ho Chun Sing Maxwell, who examined the characteristics of entrepreneurial leadership and the principal’s leadership role. Dr Ho combined theoretical exposition with illustrative case studies drawn from a range of schools to demonstrate how entrepreneurial traits—such as strategic visioning, opportunity identification, resource mobilisation and risk‑aware decision making—can be translated into concrete leadership practices. Participants were introduced to practical strategies and routines that support team mobilisation, innovation and organisational learning. By integrating conceptual frameworks with school examples, the session promoted reflective practice and equipped newly appointed principals with actionable approaches to strengthen school governance and drive sustained school improvement.
