Date: 09 November 2026 (Monday)
Venue: The Education University of Hong Kong (Tai Po Campus)
Conference Organisers:
Against the backdrop of global educational transformation and fierce international competition for top-tier talent and innovative capacity, the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area (GBA) has emerged as a pivotal global pioneer for cross-border educational integration and collaborative development. This forward-looking development aligns seamlessly with China’s 15th Five-Year Plan and the grand vision of building a global education powerhouse. The GBA draws on the distinct and complementary educational strengths of Mainland GBA cities, the Hong Kong Special Administrative Region and the Macao Special Administrative Region. It boasts an unparalleled strategic edge in leading global educational innovation and high-calibre talent cultivation, breaking the constraints of traditional educational ecosystems and reshaping the landscape of international educational cooperation.
Amid the GBA’s diverse educational landscapes, the synergistic advancement of educational internationalisation and school leadership stands as a critical, urgent priority for regional educational upgrading. This international conference is designed to tackle this core demand, bridging theoretical exploration and practical implementation to drive targeted, high-quality development of GBA educational internationalisation. Theoretically, it aims to analyse the inherent logic and core connotations of integrating educational internationalisation with school governance across the region’s varied education systems. It also seeks to clarify the foundational principles and value orientations that underpin regional educational globalisation. Practically, it focuses on exploring actionable, practice-led pathways to deepen cross-border educational integration and elevate the overall quality of educational internationalisation. Moreover, it targets dismantling institutional and resource barriers between disparate education systems, and bolstering the GBA’s status as a world-class hub for high-standard international education and elite talent development.
