An experienced ex-principal, school ex-inspector and frontline educator, called Mr Dominic Cheng Chun Fat, delivered two guest lectures on raising the participating local, national and international undergraduates’ awareness of twenty concepts of national securities in the People’s Republic of China, and deepening their understanding of Basic Law (BL) and National Security Law (NSL) in HKSAR’s teaching professions under the ‘one country two systems’ framework. Mr Cheng launched a series of practical school-based activities to bridge theories and practices in value education in preschool and K-12 education.
Concurrently, Dr Percy Kwok Lai Yin (EPL Dept.) provided George Bereday’s comparative education model during his lectures to help students make penetrating comparisons of teacher professional ethics in Hong Kong and other societies, cities, and countries in Asia, Europe, North America, and Oceania in the first semester of the school year 25-26. Consequently, participating students were able to address practical constraints, challenges, and depict the changing roles of professional teachers in Hong Kong, shaped by BL and NSL.
