Learning Together: AI-Assisted Lesson Planning, Self-directed Learning and Assessment

On 6th June 2026, the Department of ELE and the eTEACHERS team will host the 8th Annual eTEACHERS Roundtable on our taipo campus. The three-hour event will feature perspectives from curriculum experts, vice-principals, English panel chairs, academics and primary and secondary classroom teachers. It also offers a space for conversation, questions and in-depth discussion about the practical experiences of educators in integrating AI in English education, including lesson planning, SDL and assessment.

Different perspectives will include: 1. The Big Picture – What is our present and future reality when it comes to integrating AI into the language teaching classroom? 2. “How to” – Which AI apps work best in English teaching, and why and how should we use them? And 3. Healthy Skepticism – Understanding the tradeoffs and disadvantages of fully committing to AI in teaching. What are the risks, and isn’t there more to language teaching than using AI? Participants are encouraged to share their own experience and bring their own questions to the Roundtable and Workshop sessions.
