Dr Leung Chi Hin received a patent from China National Intellectual Property Administration (CNIPA) (國家知識產權局) for his invention "A System for Creating a Grid Notation Music Score" () on 28 April 2023.
Abstract:
The present specification discloses a system for creating a grid notation music score, which includes a production module for the grid
notation music score, an instrumental setup module, a subdividing module, a note printing module; wherein it is possible to input,
setup, produce and display the grid notation music score with the aid of the production module for the grid notation music score, the
instrumental setup module, the subdividing module, and the note printing module; wherein the grid notation music score contains
elements such as an instrument upon which the grid notation music score is to be played, note, pitch, tempo, key signature, time
signature, duration, bar line, subdivided beat line, chord symbol, phonetic symbol, grace note, velocity note, and no high-pitched
note. The present system may allow tempo visualisation of a musical score, effectively lower the requirements for score
identification, and shorten training time for score identification. It is friendly especially for beginners.
