CEAR Open Day

To celebrate the opening of the Centre for Entrepreneurship and Research (CEAR), the Education University of Hong Kong (EdUHK) invited various industrialists and members of the public to experience the innovative tech of our start-ups and discover potential collaboration opportunities.
 
The events comprise sharings by 5 CEAR Teams (in alphabetical order):
  1. Edufuture Robotics
    An AI-powered storytelling robot designed to enhance cognitive and linguistic development among children
  2. Focus Tech Lab
    An intelligent automated system for effective ocular misalignment assessment and diagnosis
  3. Innovative Music Zentre
    An innovative music project for e-orchestra performance and digital music creation
  4. MetaAI
    A one-stop packaging solution with AI-driven features for lifelong learning in metaverse environments
  5. SustAInED
    A chatroom for collaborative learning and teaching with GenAI
At EdUHK, we are committed to nurturing a vibrant entrepreneurial ecosystem and collaborating with strategic stakeholders to make a positive impact on society. We believe that engagement with stakeholders drives our efforts to create meaningful outcomes for the community.

CEAR is an innovation hub located at the Hong Kong Science Park. With an aim to support entrepreneurship and incubate EdUHK projects to successful science and technology businesses, CEAR offers dedicated resources for incubation and collaboration, as well as connecting research-based innovators, like-minded entrepreneurs and early-stage startups.
 
EdUHK Director of Knowledge Transfer Professor Stephen Chow Cheuk-fai kickstarted the event, introducing CEAR and the University's innovation, entrepreneurship, and technology transfer development in his welcome remarks.
 
Workshop participants experienced firsthand how Edufuture Robotics' social robot bring stories to life and make learning fun and effective.
 
Founder of Focus Tech Lab Dr Fu Hong engaged in discussions with industry experts on how their intelligent automated system helps strabismus assessment and diagnosis.
 
 Founder of Innovative Music Zentre Dr Michael Leung Chi-hin shared the success of their product in making music accessible to people of all ages and backgrounds without prior musical knowledge.
 
MetaAI's 3D metaverse solution attracted young learners to try online collaborative learning integrated with pedagogical models to enrich learning and teaching experiences.
 
 Founder of SustAInED Dr Fridolin Ting Sze-thou introduced their educational platform application for a new teaching and learning economy.
