Dr Michael E. Mann is a distinguished climate scientist and professor at the University of Pennsylvania, serving as Vice Provost for Climate Science, Policy, and Action. His research centres on Earth's climate system, human-induced climate change, and its policy implications. A key contributor to the IPCC’s Third Assessment Report and a Nobel Peace Prize co-recipient, Dr Mann has received numerous awards including the Hans Oeschger Medal, the Tyler Prize, and election to the US National Academy of Sciences. He holds advanced degrees from UC Berkeley and Yale, and has authored over 300 publications and seven books on climate science. As a prominent voice in the field, he is a Fellow of multiple scientific societies and co-founder of the science website RealClimate.org. Recent honours include being named Humanist of the Year (2023) and elected a Foreign Member of the Royal Society (2024).
