On July 25, 2026, Dr. Michael Kin Chung Yeung, Associate Professor in the Department of Psychology, was featured in a Ming Pao article exploring how "Brain Gym" exercises can support children with Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD) in overcoming social and emotional challenges.
Dr. Yeung and his research team have developed gamified tools combining "executive function training" and "neurofeedback technology." Similar to working out at a gym, these tools help activate relevant brain regions to enhance emotional recognition, focus, and social flexibility in children with ASD. This innovative research was also awarded a Gold Medal at the Geneva International Exhibition of Inventions, providing practical and evidence-based support for children with autism and their families.
