陈靖恒小姐

I completed my MA in Applied Linguistics from The University of Hong Kong in 2019 and my BA in Bilingual Studies from Hong Kong Polytechnic University in 2016. Before joining the Department of Linguistics and Modern Language Studies as a PhD student, I worked as a research assistant in HKU and EdUHK for three years, focusing on language teachers’ development and English language curriculum enhancement. My research interests include second/third language acquisition, pronunciation teaching and learning, and discourse analysis.

I am a PhD student in the Department of Linguistics and Modern Language Studies. Both my B.A. (SHU) and M.A. (HKUST) degrees are in Teaching Chinese as a Second Language. I worked as a Research Assistant in Chilin (HK) Ltd before joining LML in 2021. Before joining the Department of Linguistics and Modern Language Studies as a PhD student, I worked as a lecturer at KIMEP University, Kazakhstan. I have been a PhD student in the Department of Linguistics and Modern Language Studies since 2020. I received my Bachelor’s degree in English Language and Literature at Northeastern University, China, in 2016. I then completed my Master’s degree in Foreign Linguistics and Applied Linguistics at Northeastern University, China, in 2019. My research interests include multimodal discourse analysis, language and identity, and English language teaching.

Prior to studying my doctoral degree, I have 4-year working experience in teaching Chinese and Japanese. My research interests include second/third language acquisition, multilingualism, experimental phonetics, and perception/production of L2/L3.

I completed my MA in English Language Education from EdUHK and obtained my BA in Mainland China with a major in English. Prior to being a PhD student, I have eight-year working experience serving as an IELTS speaking teacher and worked as a research assistant in EdUHK for three years. I obtained my BA in 2020 from The University of Shenzhen, where I took a specialized interest in Chinese-English interpreting. I then studied for my MA and trained for three years to become an interpreting practitioner at Shanghai International Studies University. My interest gradually shifted towards research in linguistics, and in 2023, I joined the Department of Linguistics and Modern Language Studies. Currently, my research interests include academic discourse and language assessment.
