Professor Sung gave us vital information and helped us know more about the thoughts and feelings of front-line medical staff.
The information he provided was unique and could not be found in books.

Speakers:
Professor Joseph Sung
Chairman, Department of Medicine and Therapeutics, the Chinese University of Hong Kong

Leader of the 'Dirty Team' at the Prince of Wales Hospital during the SARS outbreak, Professor Sung recalled his first-hand experience of combating the disease as well as the challenges faced by all front-line and supporting medical practitioners. Though Professor Sung gave an objective and scientific analysis, participants were able to feel his empathy with his patients and his benevolent attitude towards them.

Participating students later bombarded Professor Sung with questions ranging from institutional cooperation, the roles of the Department of Health and the Hospital Authority, the possible return of SARS and the precautionary measures to be taken by the Government. These in-depth questions reflected the firm grasp of the SARS issue students had developed through months of study. Even Professor Sung was impressed by their depth of knowledge.
