The Hong Kong Institute of Education continues to receive generous donations from well wishers to support language enhancement and other worthwhile initiatives, and to establish scholarships and bursaries for students. Recent donations include the followings:

Dr Sir Gordon and Lady Ivy Wu HK$3 million in support of the institute's long term aim of training good teachers
The Croucher Foundation HK$288,000 to support two Chinese visitorships at the Institute for scientific attachments in 2003-04
The Hong Kong and China Gas Co Ltd HK$100,000 to support the 'Learning from SARS and Beyond' project
Living Values Educational Programme, United Nations Educational, Scientific & Cultural Organisation HK$100,000 for 'Giving Value to Values Education Conference', organised by Centre for the Development of School Partnership and Field Experience
A former student of Grantham College of Education HK$50,000 for the 'Alumni Matching Campaign' which aims to raise funds for the establishment of the HKIEd Development Fund
Modern Educational Research Society Limited HK$18,000 to support the activities of 'Asia-Pacific Forum on Science Learning and Teaching'
Representatives from 95-96 Sir Robert Black College of Education Students' Union HK$10,500 for the establishment of the HKIEd Development Fund
Scholarships and Bursaries
Staff of School of Early Childhood Education, HKIEd HK$250,000 for the establishment of five scholarships in five years
Mrs Esther Morris & Paul Morris HK$100,000 to support the establishment of 'Esther & Paul Morris Scholarships' to attract students with excellent academic credentials to enroll in courses offered by the HKIEd
Hang Seng Bank HK$72,000 to renew three scholarships for Four-year Full-time BEd (Honours) (Primary) Programme and one scholarship for Two-year Full-time BEd (Honours) (Primary) Programme in 2003/04 academic year
Sik Sik Yuen HK$30,000 for partial support of three PRC students' 4th year of studies at HKIEd
Pang Jop Ming Memorial Scholarship for Art (Painting) HK$30,000 for the establishment of one scholarship of HK$10,000 per year for three years
 

QEF Project Mentoring and Peer Review: Supporting key skills for secondary school teachers Schools in Hong Kong play an increasingly important role in supporting and mentoring student teachers and beginning teachers.  Peer review is vital for effective staff appraisal and school-based staff development.  Secondary teachers need support in developing peer review and mentoring skills. This support is being provided by Institute staff with the assistance of the Quality Education Fund (QEF).
