Led by Professor Lim Cher Ping, Associate Dean (International Engagement) of FEHD, a team of scholars from EdUHK visited Graduate School of Education (GSE) at Peking University (PKU) from 30 October to 3 November 2023. This visit was part of the collaborative project titled ‘Technology-Enabled Futures of Education: Harnessing Emerging Technologies to Enhance Equity, Quality, and Efficiency’, which was initiated in March 2023.

During the visit, the EdUHK team met with the PKU team to discuss the project’s progress and plan the next steps. Additionally, the EdUHK team conducted a series of seminars for students and colleagues at PKU. These seminars provided valuable insights and shared experiences on various topics. They also included interactive Q&A sessions to encourage active discussion between EdUHK scholars and the participants.

Professor Jia Jiyou, Head of the Department of Educational Technology at PKU, hosted the EdUHK team during their visit. As part of their itinerary, they had the opportunity to visit the Affiliated High School of PKU and the Beijing exhibition hall of iFLYTEK. These visits provided valuable insights into student learning and teaching practices in Beijing, as well as the application of AI technologies in education in Mainland China. The first-hand experiences deepened the team’s understanding of these areas.

The five-day visit facilitated knowledge sharing and transfer between the two universities and further strengthened the partnership between EdUHK and PKU.
