The Education University of Hong Kong (EdUHK) officially inaugurated its West Kowloon Study Centre (Museum Drive) on 24 April. Situated within the iconic M+ Building, this facility marks the university’s fourth urban hub, completing a strategic teaching network that links its main Tai Po campus with key locations in North Point, Tseung Kwan O, and the Xiqu Centre.

A Tech-Forward Learning Environment

The new 9,000-square-foot facility is designed to support modern, flexible pedagogy. Key features include:

  • Interactive Infrastructure: Five multi-purpose classrooms equipped with advanced LED walls and collaborative layouts.

  • Student Services: Functioning as a full-service satellite hub, it facilitates assignment submissions and library services (borrowing/returns).

  • Versatile Usage: Beyond traditional lectures, the center is designed for high-profile seminars, workshops, and public engagement events.

Bridging Education and Global Culture

The strategic move into the West Kowloon Cultural District (WKCD) is intended to immerse students in a world-class artistic environment.

  • Innovative Thinking: Council Chairman Dr. David Wong and President Professor John Lee emphasized that proximity to global cultural resources will enhance students' cultural literacy and "innovative thinking."

  • Cross-Sector Collaboration: The center aims to strengthen the link between academic theory and the creative industry, utilizing the district's unique soundscapes and architectural resources.
