New Online System (“GEAR”) for Application of Campus Access for Visitors or External Participants

A new online system namely Guest Entry Authorization System (“GEAR”) has been established to facilitate the pre-registration of visitors or external participants for attending group activities or events at Tai Po Campus. From 18 August 2025, staff can use GEAR to submit application and seek approval for arrangement of visitors or external participants to access Tai Po Campus. Upon approval, GEAR can easily generate QR codes by email to pre-registered visitors who can use the QR codes for verification at the campus entrance.

To allow sufficient time for users to familiarize with GEAR, a trial period from 18 to 31 August 2025 has been arranged for staff who can choose either using the standard form EO91 or GEAR for application of campus access.  A user manual can be downloaded from the GEAR website https://gear.eduhk.hk. Staff may also access GEAR via EdUHK The Portal. Effective from 1 September, GEAR will replace the use of standard form EO91.

全新網上申請平台--訪客入校授權系統GEAR

為了便利訪客或外來參與者参加大埔校園之團體活動或節目，現推出全新之網上申請平台—訪客入校授權系統（“GEAR”）予申請部門作預先登記訪客或參與者之用。由2025年8月18日起，申請部門可通過GEAR為訪客或外來參與者進入大埔校園進行申請。申請獲批後，申請部門可以通過GEAR系統以電郵方式發送二維碼（QR Code）予預先登記之訪客，由訪客憑QR Code在校園入口處進行身份驗証。

為讓相關同事有足夠時間熟悉GEAR系統之操作，由2025年8月18日至31日GEAR系統之試行期間，員工亦可沿用表格EO91為訪客辦理入校申請。GEAR系統之用户手册可以從 https://gear.eduhk.hk 下載。同事亦可通過教大內聯網進入GEAR系統。從9月1日起，GEAR將取代表格EO91。
