The 6th International Technology-Enhanced Language Learning Symposium, organised by the Faculty of Education at The National University of Malaysia (UKM)
On July 17, Dr. Lucas Kohnke delivered a keynote address at the 6th International Technology-Enhanced Language Learning Symposium, organised by the Faculty of Education at The National University of Malaysia (UKM).
In his talk, Dr. Kohnke explored how language teachers can be empowered to integrate Generative AI (GenAI) through microlearning. He introduced the key principles of microlearning and demonstrated how it can support the development of AI-related teaching competencies—linking these to both the SAMR model and the TPACK framework.
The keynote concluded with a powerful call for teacher educators and teachers to redefine their professional competencies—not only to survive the GenAI era, but to thrive in it ethically, critically, and creatively.
