About Professor Barnawi:

📖 Founder & Series Editor of Global South Perspectives on TESOL (Routledge, Taylor & Francis Group)

🎓 A scholar focused on transnational English-medium instruction (EMI), neoliberalism in higher education, and critical perspectives on applied linguistics

🌍 His recent research explores how transnational EMI policies in non-English dominant societies serve as tools for nation branding and economic competitiveness

🤝 Examines collaborations between governments and universities, reflecting broader neoliberal ideologies in education
