• Understanding how language learning develops beyond the classroom, and how it relates to learners’ emotions, willingness to communicate, self-regulation, and language development over time.

Human-Centred AI in Language Learning

• Exploring how AI can support language learning while preserving the roles of teachers, peers, and learners’ agency.

Research into Practice

• Working over time with schools, governments, NGOs, industry, and community partners to understand local needs and develop research-informed approaches with teachers, learners, and communities.

Across these programmes, I use longitudinal and intervention designs, structural equation modelling, experience sampling, latent profile analysis, and qualitative inquiry.
