The IDLE Lab brings together students and researchers interested in informal language learning, digital and AI-supported language learning, learner emotions, willingness to communicate, speaking development, and the use of research in educational practice. In the IDLE Lab, students are encouraged to develop methodological independence, an academic voice of their own, and increasing ownership of their questions and longer-term direction. Students are also encouraged to question and extend these ideas while developing their own lines of inquiry.
