ELE’s 7th Annual eTEACHERS Roundtable Held at North Point Learning Centre: 

Partnering AI & HI in Classroom Teaching: Is the Partnership between Artificial & Human Intelligence

True Love or an Arranged Marriage?

On Saturday, August 23rd, 2025, the Department of ELE hosted the 7th Annual eTEACHERS Roundtable at the EdUHK North Point Study Centre. The event brought together over 100 classroom teachers, educational leaders and academics to explore the partnership between AI and human teachers.

The keynote address was delivered by Professor Angel Lin, Chair Professor at ELE. Professor Lin engaged the audience with thought-provoking examples and illustrations of the power and limitations of AI. The keynote was followed by an exciting hour-long Roundtable discussion. Roundtable speakers included Professor Lin; ELE’s Lecturer, Mr Denis Wong; Vice-principal and secondary teacher, Ms Jenny Leung; primary teacher, Ms Annie Yiu; and PhD candidate Ms Winsy Lai. The discussion was moderated by Dr Tim Taylor and included several stimulating questions from the audience.

Seminar speakers conducted breakout sessions with participants after the Roundtable discussion, sharing a range of practical resources and teaching and language learning strategies. The Roundtable keynote address and seminar presentations will be shared on the eTEACHERS CoP professional development hub later this month.
