Dr ZADOROZHNYY, Artem

Assistant Professor

Dr. Artem Zadorozhnyy is an Assistant Professor in the Department of English Language Education at the Education University of Hong Kong (EdUHK). He began his career teaching English and French across different age groups in Kazakhstan, where his interest in extracurricular language learning activities led him to complete his MA in Multilingual Education at Nazarbayev University (Kazakhstan). Building on this foundation, he pursued his PhD at EdUHK, where he was awarded the Hong Kong PhD Fellowship and subsequently received the Hong Kong Postdoctoral Fellowship.

 

 

His research within the field of applied linguistics focuses on computer-assisted language learning, particularly informal digital learning of English (IDLE), learner autonomy, and AI literacy among second language learners. He integrates motivational and educational psychology theories to foster contextually relevant, sustainable, and student-centered practices that empower language learners and support educators. His work has been published in multiple peer-reviewed journals including TESOL Quarterly, Computer-Assisted Language Learning, ReCALL, Technology, Knowledge and Learning, and the Journal of Adolescence and Adult Literacy, and he currently serves on the editorial board of Innovation in Language Learning and Teaching (Q1).
