The Department of Early Childhood Education at The Education University of Hong Kong (EdUHK) proudly hosted an evening reception on May 2, 2025, at Hilton Minneapolis for participants of the Society for Research in Child Development (SRCD) 2025 Biennial Meeting.
A delegation comprising faculty members, doctoral candidates, and administrative personnel represented the Department to facilitate the reception. The event attracted over 180 scholars from across the globe. Many guests provided feedback that the reception was one of the best ones they had attended at SRCD.
One of our guests, Dr. Flavia H. Santos, from University College London said, “I had a fantastic evening during the ECE EdUHK reception at the SRCD. It was great to meet colleagues from the Department. Besides the good food and conversations, there was so much positive energy!”
Ms. Ruoxi Zhang, a graduate student from Beijing Normal University, who received “Edu, the ECE Monkey” as a souvenir, shared, “The reception was an excellent opportunity for people like me in our early stages of our careers to socialize and network with peers and professors from EdUHK.”
The reception was organized by the Internationalization Team of the ECE Department (Dr. Alfredo Bautista, Mr. Eric Cheng, Ms. Sofie Chua, and Ms. Yana Cheng) to provide a platform for our colleagues to establish new connections and showcase our research and teaching areas and available positions to international colleagues in the field.
