An incoming PhD candidate, Ms. Charla Rochella Saamong, in the Department of Early Childhood Education (ECE) was awarded the competitive Belt and Road Scholarship (Research Postgraduate 2021/22 round). Ms. Saamong is an experienced early years educator and will join ECE as an international PhD student. She will study “Children's physical activities and movement diaries in rural communities”. Her primary supervisor is Dr. Catherine Capio, and associate supervisors are Dr. Derwin Chan and Prof. Sue Saltmarsh.
The Belt and Road Scholarship (Research Postgraduate) aims at attracting outstanding research postgraduate students from Belt and Road countries to pursue their further studies in Hong Kong. The Scholarship is supported by HKSAR Government Scholarship Fund and will cover the awardee’s full tuition fees.
