Lecture I – Succession and Innovation: How Kindergartens Can Build a Sustainable Professional Culture

Speaker: Ms. Tang Ming Wai Patricia, Director of Early Childhood Education Service, Hong Kong Christian Service

Introduction: In a rapidly changing early childhood education environment, how can kindergartens preserve professional values and experience while continuing to innovate and build a sustainable professional culture? Drawing from leadership practice, the speaker will explore a child-centred shared vision, team collaboration and a culture of reflection, as well as the importance of nurturing new teachers and professional learning communities. Specific strategies will be shared to help educators strike a balance between succession and innovation, driving the long-term development of quality early childhood education.

Lecture II – Lifelong Learning, Sustained Leadership: From Graduation to a New Professional Milestone

Speaker: Dr. Fung Wai Man, Principal of Creative Kindergarten

Introduction: The speaker will share her personal journey from being an outsider to her current role as Regional Principal, and how cross-sectoral learning, in-depth specialisation, and self-awareness have enabled her to translate further study into the ability to solve the challenges. Through this authentic experience, the lecture aims to help you understand how to equip yourself and continue learning after completing your programme–truly transforming from a graduate into a sustained leader in early childhood education.

Participate actively, broaden your professional horizons, and bring cutting-edge knowledge back to your school settings to support the continued quality development of early childhood education.

With the latest updates on the industry and teaching resources of early childhood education, early childhood educators incessantly undertake continuing education in order to grasp the ever-evolving professional teaching skills and theories.

The Department of Early Childhood Education at EdUHK offers a wide range of early childhood education programmes, covering higher diploma, bachelor's degrees, postgraduate programmes, and professional development programmes.
