Award Ceremony of the Project “STEAM biographies”

An award ceremony for the Project “STEAM biographies: A holistic approach to learning Chinese Language” was held on 4 July 2023 at the Tai Po campus.
Initiated by the Department of Chinese Language Studies (CHL), the Quality Education Fund sponsored Project aims to promote extensive reading of Great People’s biographies among primary students.
Student participants are expected to enhance their understanding of the Great People’s deeds, develop positive attitudes and values, and improve their reading and writing skills in Chinese. The students learned through various activities including reading seminars, drama workshops, reading report competitions, script writing and performance competitions in 2022-23.
The project team led by Dr Ho Chi Hang, Professor Leung Pui Wan Pamela and Dr Cheung Sau Hung officiated the award ceremony. Two project consultants, Mr Fung Luk Tak and Mr Wong Chi Kin, also met with the project participants in person. Over 200 primary students, accompanied by their teachers or parents, attended the award ceremony and shared their learning outcomes by performing their winning plays on the spot. The ceremony was filled with joy and excitement, demonstrating the initial success and fruitful results of the Project.
