Overview
Promoting mental health and wellness is salient in preventing mental health crisis. Research suggests that practices of awareness and compassion can promote resilience, well-being, and reducing stress and anxiety.

This project offers the following seminars and training workshops to EdUHK staff and students as well as school teachers and students:
  • Lunch Time Mindful Oasis
  • Positive Education Project
  • Mindfulness Ambassador Scheme
  • 8-week Mindfulness-Based Cognitive Therapy (MBCT)
Evidence-based Theories of Mindfulness, Resilience and Compassion Approach
  • Positive psychology and wellbeing education (Seligman 2011)
  • Mindfulness-based Stress Reduction Programme (Kabat-Zinn 2005)
  • Mindfulness-based Cognitive Therapy Programme (Segal, Williams & Teasdale 2012)
  • Soles of the Feet Programme (Singh 2011)
  • Mindfulness-Based Positive Behavior Support (MBPBS) (Singh 2014)
  • Self-compassion (Neff 2003)
Objectives
  • To enhance the participants’ well-being and resilience by practicing MRC for personal growth and well-being;
  • To bridge up the learning of the participants to the educational setting in which they work with their students in the classroom of EdUHK and the project schools;
  • To develop resources for promoting mental health and positive culture in schools and communities including children, adolescents, educational professionals, and parents;
  • To establish a sustainable network and community for promoting well-being.
