Inside the EdUHK's eco-garden located in the park near the BBQ site lying the Goddess of the Water in sublime grace for your appreciation.

Water Lily 睡蓮 also praised as "Goddess of the Water" 水中女神belongs to the Nymphaeaceae family. Due to its vibrant colors and graceful appearance, the lotus stands elegantly in a pond of clear water like an ethereal maiden, earning it the praise of being the "Goddess of the Water." Water Lily closes its flowers at night and reopens them in the morning, which is why it is also called the "Sleeping Beauty of Flowers.".  Thanks to robust conservation and gardening efforts, they are not only preserved but also nurtured in their most charming state.

「荷」是花、葉的總稱，「蓮」指果實，荷花=蓮花，屬蓮花科，但睡蓮屬睡蓮花科，蓮花和睡蓮是不一樣的植物了 。因其花色艷麗，花姿楚楚動人，在一池碧水中宛如冰肌脫俗的少女，因此睡蓮被人們讚譽為 「池中女神」。另外，睡蓮亦會在晚上將花朵閉合，到早上才張開，因此又被稱為「花中睡美人」。
