Research Interests
- Computer Assisted Language Learning (CALL):
- Design inclusive and engaging language learning environments using emerging technologies (e.g., GenAI) in collaboration with universities, schools, NGOs, and tech industries—empowering learners to grow and contribute to their communities.
Informal Digital Learning of English (IDLE):
Advocate for the recognition of out-of-school digital activities (e.g., Minecraft, Discord, YouTube, Webtoon) as valid learning spaces.
Develop AI-powered “Train-the-Trainer” programs to help educators integrate IDLE into classrooms, fostering curiosity, creativity, and learner autonomy.
Social Impact:
- Translate original research (e.g., IDLE) into programs that address real-world challenges faced by L2 learners and teachers in under-resourced communities.
- Measure tangible outcomes and expand scalable, open-access solutions to reach broader populations—ensuring that learning benefits the greater good.
