From September 22 to 26, 2025, the Department of Early Childhood Education (ECE) welcomed distinguished visitors from Indonesia. The delegation included Dr. Evania Yafie and Dr. Riska Pristiani from The State University of Malang, as well as Ms. Alfi Rohmatul Azizah from Yayasan Haqqi Internasional Edukasi.
The main objective of the visit was to enhance academic collaboration between The State University of Malang (Universitas Negeri Malang, or 'UM') and The Education University of Hong Kong. Established in East Java, Indonesia, The State University of Malang is among the country's oldest and most reputable teacher training institutions.
During their stay, the visitors engaged in meetings with key ECE faculty members, including Associate Head (Internationalization) Professor Alfredo Bautista, Acting Head Professor Eva Lau, Chair Professor Philip Li, Associate Professor Dr Weipeng Yang, Assistant Professor Dr Sisi Tao, and Associate Professor of Teaching Dr Catalina Ng. Discussions centered on potential joint research initiatives and partnership opportunities aimed at fostering academic exchange.
Additionally, on September 25, 2025, the delegation visited three local kindergartens: Yan Oi Tong Mrs. Augusta Cheung Kindergarten and Nursery, Little Buds Kindergarten, and Les Peti Lascars - Central. The ECE Department extends its sincere gratitude to the respective principals—Principal Yeung Choi Ming, Principal Bishawati Thapa, and Principal Komal Prasad—for their warm hospitality and support during these visits.
The ECE Department looks forward to strengthening these international collaborations and exploring further avenues for cooperation in early childhood education.
