Fourteen HD(ECE) and BEd(ECE) students joined a training program this summer, organized by Bridge Academy and the Department of Early Childhood Education.
During the two-month training program, students learned how to use ABA to provide therapy sessions for children with special needs, as well as design individualized training programmes. Students were then placed in different local NGOs for a 5-week practicum. The students collected real-time learning data of the children during the training, which helped them understand children's learning abilities and adjust the pace of instruction.
These valuable experiences will help students effectively apply technology in the early childhood education environment and support children with special educational needs in the community.
Our BEd(ECE) student Ms. Lau Tsz Kwan shared her experiences of the training program in an interview with Radio Television Hong Kong (RTHK), which you can listen to here: https://www.rthk.hk/radio/radio1/programme/parents_are_no_aliens/episode/896248.
