The Department of Early Childhood Education organized an online international forum titled “Play in Kindergarten Education: Practitioners Informing Researchers”, as part of the Inter-Conversations series (August 4, 2020). More than 250 ECE practitioners and researchers from 25 countries registered for the event. The forum provided a platform for kindergarten practitioners around the world to share their experiences in play-based pedagogy and practical challenges. In response, invited researchers talked about how their research work is related to practitioners’ needs and how practitioners and researchers could work together to engage children in high quality play-based learning. More than just gaining insightful reflections on their work about play, participants enjoyed this connection at this critical moment!
