The Department of Early Childhood Education at The Education University of Hong Kong is pleased to announce that Professor Lau Yi-hung, Eva, is appointed as the Head of the Department, effective from 1 November 2026.
Professor Lau possesses extensive knowledge and experience in early childhood education and has held important administrative roles in the Department for consecutive years. She is also an influential scholar, whose research focuses primarily on family studies and child development, including parental involvement, parenting skills, early childhood aggression, primary school transition, and executive function. She currently serves as senior associate editor of the international journal "Early Education and Development" and is a board member of four kindergartens. She has received funding for numerous research and knowledge transfer projects totaling over HK$100 million.
