On 28 February, 14 March, and 21 March 2026, the our Department of Early Childhood Education at The Education University of Hong Kong successfully organised three “Play, Learn, and Connect - Family Day at EdUHK” events. The atmosphere was warm, lively, and filled with laughter.
The six centres under the Heep Hong Society, including Yung Ming Centre (Early Education and Training Centre and Special Child Care Centre), Shanghai Fraternity Association Yau Lai Centre, Lei Yue Mun Centre, Mary Wong Centre, and Shun Lee Centre, together welcomed a total of 49 families to the University. We spent a wonderful day creating joyful memories together.
The events were planned and run by 16 students from the ECE Department. They guided parents and children to take part in a variety of games, stories, and hands-on craft activities. The atmosphere was harmonious and energetic. Through these interactive sessions, not only did the families and children enjoy precious parent–child bonding time, but they also experienced the meaning and joy of inclusion in a relaxed and fun environment.
For our students, these events were an extremely valuable hands-on learning opportunity. They had the chance to engage deeply with families with diverse needs and to experience firsthand how to support children’s development through games and creative activities. Many students shared that, through this experience, they gained a deeper understanding of inclusive education and look forward to applying these valuable insights to their future teaching.
We believe that every family who participated, as well as our faculty’s staff and students, will leave warm and unforgettable memories on our campus.
